Hirsh y Garcia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hirsh y García is a brand of handmade premium cigar owned by Cigar King, Inc..

History and Background

The brand was created by José "Pepin" Garcia and is manufactured at the El Rey de los Habanos factory in the Little Havana section of Miami, Florida.

The brand takes its name from the two men responsible for its creation: Mitchell Hirsh, owner of Cigar King, Inc., and Pepin Garcia.

Mitchell Hirsh was born in Skokie, Illinois in 1955. He acquired his extraordinary business ethic working at his father’s retail store, Discount King. Discount King sold everything from toothpaste to cigars. Even as a young child, Mitchell was fascinated with the small section of the store that was dedicated to tobacco sales. When his father retired, Mitchell purchased Discount King from him. He discontinued all non-tobacco products and changed its name to Cigar King. It was there that Mitchell began building a foundation and a reputation for one of the finest cigar – retail stores in the world. When he moved to Arizona some 15 years later, he established a second retail store in Scottsdale, Arizona, also called Cigar King. There, he incorporated the distribution of fine luxury items such as watches, mount blanc pens, and so on. What gives the Cigar king it’s exceptional name is its renowned reputation for fine service and reasonable prices. Mitchell still incorporates the same customer – friendly values he did when he first opened Cigar King.
