Hiran Chatterjee

Hiraan Chatterjee (Bengali: হিরণ চ্যাটার্জী) (Born: 19 December 1982) is a Bengali Indian film actor.^[1]

Biography

Hiraan, a versatile Bengali film actor, has showcased his talent through all kinds of films of different genres such as: romantic, comedy and action. The variety tells enough about his versatility.^{[citation needed]} His Nickname is Papai. He resides at Behala.^{[citation needed]} Hiraan was born at Uluberia, a sub-divisional town of Howrah, and spent his childhood days at Uluberia.^{[citation needed]} He was from a very poor Family. He lost both his parents at an early age. After spending 14 academically brilliant years in Uluberia, he lived in Maniktala Ashrom in Kolkata for his survival. While he joined the evening classes at Rabindra Bharati University for his English Honours, during the day he worked for a shipping company. Following this he went to Mumbai to join the Reliance Industries. Then he did Management in Logistics & Supply Chain, and Law in Customs. There after he left his Senior Manager's Job to become an actor. His passion for acting drove him into the challenging world of the film industry, providing him with courage to leave the security of a good job.

Film career

His first role as leading character was in the 2007 Bengali movie “Nabab Nandini”, directed by Haranath Chakraborty, opposite Koel Mullick. The film gave Hiraan tremendous popularity.^{[citation needed]} The film was a success and established Hiraan as a popular face in the top league of Tollyville.^{[citation needed]} After becoming a star with his first film, he did not sign up for other films until he bagged the roles in “Bhalobasa Bhalobasa” and “Chirosaathi”. "Bhalobasa Bhalobasa" became a hit and people started calling him the 'Chocolate Boy'. Thereafter he got critical plaudits for his characters in “Jackpot” and “Risk”.^{[citation needed]} His "Macho Mustanaa" converted him from 'Chocolate Boy' into 'Macho' guy.^{[citation needed]} He is known now as the "Macho hero" of Tollywood & he achieved "Eight Packs" for this film.^{[citation needed]} His latest release "Le Halua Le" became a hit.^{[citation needed]}

Hiraan as singer and writer

He has released a music video album named "Bindaass" where he and his wife sang and acted. He has also written the story and script of a feature film "DASHAMI" directed by Suman Moitra and acted by Koel Mullick and Indraneil Sengupta.^{[citation needed]}

Social work

He is actively involved with the NGO group called "Voice of World" and he is a regular contributor there. He believes in social work in true sense. His awareness made him pledging to donate his eyes even at this young age.^{[citation needed]}
