Hir is 20 kilometers to the city of Ardebil. The economy of Hir is based on agriculture, including the production of berries, apples, apricots, and mostly bee keeping. Hir could be considered the Iranian capital of honey. Hir River passes through town The river's source is Neor Lake on Hir Mountain about 5 kilometers from the town of Hir.

Hir (Persian: هير, also Romanized as Hīr)[1] is a city in the Hir District of Ardabil County, Ardabil Province, Iran.
