Himakuntla is a village in Simhadripuram mandal in Kadapa District in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.[1] As of 2001 it had a population of 1,240 in 297 households.[1]
Himakuntla is divided into two areas: garugu and vuru. It has an average elevation of 228 metres (748 ft). Himakuntla's surrounding villages are Charlopalli, Agraharam, Kasunure, Ankallama Gooduru, and Gurajala.
It is a fast developing village. The village has well-developed roads and water facilities unlike any other village or town in the state.[citation needed]
The climate is temperate and the land is fertile. Commercial crops like chanikkayalu, sanaga, jonna, korra, sunflowers, and chinipandu (sweet lemon) are grown in the village.
Sweet lemons are exported to other states like Assam, Maharastra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
The village‘s main drinking water resource is an old well.
Sri Anjaneeya Swami Temple, Srirama Temple, and Parti Anjaneya Temple are the main temples.
The high school was started in 1998 and is still growing, with two-storey buildings and computer facilities. It is well connected with pulivendula and simhadripuram. Bus facilities are available. It is a panchayat along with the Agraharam village.
