The Highline Trail is a trail in the Uinta Mountain Range of Utah that crosses the range from the west to the east. The trail, sometimes called the Uinta Highline Trail, follows the crest of the Uintas and runs 95.7 miles (154.0 km) (if one hikes its full length all the way to U.S. Route 191 (Utah)).[1] Much of the trail is located in the High Uintas Wilderness.

The trail's two endpoints are: On the western end, Hayden Pass near Mirror Lake on the Mirror Lake Highway;[2] And on the eastern end, U.S. Route 191 (Utah), between Flaming Gorge Reservoir and Vernal.[3][4] It is designated as Trail 083 within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, and Trail 025 in the Ashley National Forest, with Rocky Sea Pass being the dividing line.[5] Much of the trail is above 10,000 feet (3,048 m) and the tree line.[6] There are many hikers/runners who don't go the whole length, but rather 78 miles from Hayden Pass to Leidy Peak,[7] or for an even shorter route of 62 miles from Hayden Pass to Chepeta Lake.[8]
