Hexaplex erythrostomus is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Muricidae, the murex snails or rock snails.[1]

Description

Shell globose and strong, blunt spina ormnentada. The mouth is circular and presence of fell on the columella, the siphonal chanel narrow, short and curved with decorations on the outside. The color of shell is white to shades of gray can present diverse color simulating a rock. Aperture is deep pink and pearly inner shell.[2]

Distribution

West Coast of the United States, Mexico Baja California to Peru.[3][4][5]

Habitat

Inhabiting the infralittoral in sandy and sometimes on rocks[2]
