Herndon (formerly, Sycamore) is an unincorporated community in Fresno County, California.[1] It is located 9 miles (14 km) northwest of downtown Fresno,[2] at an elevation of 299 feet (91 m).[1]

The town was originally called Sycamore in 1872.[2] The Herndon post office opened in 1887, closed in 1893, and re-opened in 1907.[2]
