Herbert Smith (22 November 1877 – 6 January 1951) was an English footballer who played in the Football League for Derby County and Stoke.[1] He also competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics, playing at left-back.
Career
He was born in Witney, Oxfordshire and was a member of the English team, which won the gold medal in the football tournament. He had previously made four appearances for the full England team in 1905 and 1906.
Smith played for a number of clubs including Reading, Oxford City as well as short spells with Football League clubs Derby County in 1906 and Stoke in 1902.[1]
