Henry Yellowlees

Sir Henry Yellowlees born 19 April 1919 was Chief Medical Officer of the United Kingdom from 1973 to 1984. He died March 22, 2006.

He was educated at Stowe school and University College, Oxford. After a sequence of appointments to Regional Hospital Boards he was seconded to the Ministry of Health in 1963, rising to become George Godber's deputy in 1967 and Chief Medical Officer in 1973.[1]
