Henry Hollingsworth

Henry Hollingsworth (1808-1855) was a Democratic politician.[1][2] He served as the Mayor of Nashville, Tennessee from 1837 to 1839.[1][2]

Biography

Early life

He was born in Nelson County, Virginia on August 18, 1808.[1] He and a twin sister, Mary Ann, were probably the only children born to William and Fanny Hollingsworth.[3] He moved to Nashville with his parents in his boyhood.[1]

Career

He served in the Seminole Wars.[1] From 1837 to 1839, he served as Mayor of Nashville.[1][2]

Personal life

He married Eliza O’Brien in 1837, but she died at the age of 21 two years later.[1][4] He remarried to a widow, Mrs. Anna Bell Dozier Stump.[1] He died on January 24, 1855.[1]
