Henk Stallinga (born 25 September 1962) is a Dutch industrial designer and artist,[1] who challenges the boundaries of design and visual art.

Biography

Born in Tytsjerksteradiel, Stallinga graduated in industrial design[1] from the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1993, and established Studio Stallinga the same year.

Stallinga’s work challenges the boundaries of design and visual art. It forms a balance between product functionality and imagination. New meaning is formulated by focusing on associations. The works invite the user or viewer to reconsider the industrial product and challenge what people are accustomed to.

Stallinga received international recognition at the 1995 Mondriaan exhibition in the MoMa New York, the Garden Café[2] of the MoMa was installed with work of Henk Stallinga,Joep van Lieshout, and others.[3]
