Hemant Brijwasi (Devanāgarī: हेमंत ब्रजवासी, born in 1998) is the winner of (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs 2009), a singing competition aired on Zee TV. The first runner-up was Yatarth Ratnum Rastogi followed by Shreyasi Bhattacharjee. Hemant got eliminated on July 18, 2009 due a rare ordinary performance, but bounced back in contention through the wild card entry on August 8, 2009. He earned special acclaim from Suresh Wadkar, the judge in the wild card round. And earned acclaim from some widely known genius, like Wadali brothers, Asha Bhosle, Khayyam, Anandji Currently he is taking part in a show called Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star with judges Swanand Kirkire Shaan & Shantanu Moitra. He was in Champions first & now is in Challengers

Criticism

Hemant was also criticised for not being a versatile singer. He could sing Sufi songs beautifully, but did not do too well with soft romantic numbers. Often, he was accused of being more loud than necessary. He was said to be not getting into the mood of the song, when rendering romantic songs. But his expertise in Sufi music made his lil champ of sa re ga ma pa.
