Hein Potgieter (born 20 September 1982) is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with the SWD Eagles.[1] His regular position is lock.

History

He was born in Port Elizabeth and made his debut for the Mighty Elephants (now Eastern Province Kings) in 2006. After 9 appearances in the 2006 Vodacom Cup, he joined the Falcons where he made 16 appearances in the 2007 Vodacom Cup and 2007 Currie Cup competitions.

He then joined Italian Super 10 team Catania, making 4 appearances in the 2007–08 season.[2]

After just one season, he returned to South Africa and joined the SWD Eagles where he played his rugby in 2009. He rejoined the Eastern Province Kings for 2010, but returned to the SWD Eagles in 2011.
