"Heaven" is a song by South Korean singer Ailee. The song serves as Ailee's debut single, it was digitally released on February 9, 2012 by YMC Entertainment.

Korean version

Release

On February 6, the music video teaser for Ailee's debut song, Heaven, was released. Heaven was written and produced by Wheesung.[1] On the 9th, Ailee released the song and the music video, which featured Beast's Gi Kwang.[2][3]

Promotions

The promotions of the song "Heaven" started in February 9, on Mnet's M! Countdown. The song is also being promoted on the shows Music Bank, Music Core and Inkigayo.[4]

Chart performance

Just one month after her debut, she dominated the Cyworld Music Awards on February where she won two awards for, “Song of the Month” and “Rookie of the Month“. The Cyworld Digital Music Awards are based on the Cyworld Music Charts and the winners are determined by the artist or group with the highest sales for the month.[6]

Heaven ended at number 6 on the Gaon Chart National Digital Singles Ranking on the first half of 2012[7] and at number 9 on Gaon Yearly Chart Ranking.[8]

Release

On August 4, 2013 was revealed that Ailee will be making her Japanese debut with Heaven in September.[10] On September 5, 2013 Ailee released her first teaser for Japanese Ver. of "Heaven". As show in the teaser, Ailee will release her Japanese debut single on November 6.[11]

The full music video was released on October 21, 2013. Although the tune may be familiar, the video itself is completely different from the Korean one.[12] The song has different arrangement from the Korean version.

Promotions

Ailee started to promote the song with a showcase at Shibuya O-East, Tokyo on October 21.[13]
