Heather McGowan is an American writer. She is the author of the novels Schooling[1] and The Duchess of Nothing.[2] According to her publisher Bloomsbury USA, Schooling was named Best Book of the Year by Newsweek, the Detroit Free Press, and the Hartford Courant.[3] She also co-wrote the screenplay for Tadpole. McGowan received an MFA from Brown University.[4] She lives in Brooklyn, New York.[5] Heather McGowan is awarded the 2012 Mary Ellen von der Heyden Berlin Prize Fellowship for Fiction at the American Academy in Berlin.
