Hatunqucha (Quechua hatun[1] (in Bolivia always jatun) big, large qucha lake,[2] "big lake", hispanicized spelling Atuncocha),[3][4] also known as Kulliqucha (Quechua kulli a color between blue and carmine (purple, violet, mulberry-colored),[5] "purple or violet lake", hispanicized Cullicocha),[6] is a lake in Peru located in the Ancash Region, Huaylas Province, Santa Cruz District. It is situated at a height of about 4,625 metres (15,174 ft), about 1.88 km long and 0.6 km at its widest point. Hatunqucha lies in the Cordillera Blanca, northwest of the mountains Pukarahu and Pirqarumi (Pergarumi), between the lake Rahuqucha in the east and the small lake Quyllurqucha in the west.
