Hatsushima

Hatsushima (初島) is an island in Sagami Bay, Japan. It is reached by ferry from the city of Atami, Shizuoka, about seven miles to the north-west of the island.

The population is under 1000, and the island is technically part of the city of Atami.

A Deep Sea Observatory is located close to the island.[1]
