In 1896 the brewery became an "Aktiengesellschaft" or AG, and in the same year put out 25,000 hectoliters of beer. Today, the brewery is now a “Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung” or GmbH (Ltd) owned by Anheuser–Busch InBev. Hasseröder ranks number 6 among Germany's best selling breweries.[citation needed]
