Hashim Saleh Mohammed Al-Balushi commonly known as Hashim Saleh (Arabic: هاشم صالح محمد البلوشي; born 15 October 1981) is an Omani footballer who plays for Dhofar.[1]

Club career

Hashim has been wearing number 9 jersey for clubs like Al-Nasr to rivals Dhofar. In 2008 he returned to Oman and signed for Al-Suwaiq but then later returned to Dhofar. During his brief stay at Al-Suwaiq, he led them to victory in the Sultan Qaboos Cup final against Al-Nahda. After his return to Dhofar, he again lead his club to the final but unfortunately losing to a lower-leveled Saham. In 2010 Hashim Saleh renewed his contract with Dhofar, extending his stay with the club for another season and then later played for them till the 2010–11 season.[2] In 2011, he moved to Seeb based club Al-Shabab SC and played for two seasons scoring 8 goals. On 27 July 2013, he signed a contract with his former club Dhofar.

He has also played for Kuwaiti clubs like Al-Shamal, Al-Tadamon and Kazma and has also spent a year with Al-Wakra of Qatar.

International career

In the 2007 Gulf Cup of Nations, he scored a magnificent goal against a stunned Kuwait, which was thought by many as "the best goal in the competition". He was in the squad for the 19th Gulf Cup in Muscat which Oman eventually won for the first time in their history. He also represented the national team in the 2003 as well as the 2009 Gulf Cup of Nations and in both the 2004 as well as the 2007 Asian Cups wearing the number 9 jersey.
