The Harlequin gecko, Tukutuku rakiurae [1] (formerly Hoplodactylus rakiurae),[2] is a species of gecko endemic to Stewart Island/Rakiura in the far south of New Zealand where they were discovered in 1969.[3] In terms of distribution they are one of the southernmost gecko species in the world.[4]
