Harduaganj (Hindi: हरदुआगंज) is a town and a nagar panchayat in Aligarh district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It also is home to the 500 MW Harduaganj Thermal Power Station.[1] There are many famous temples like Dauji Mandir,Shri Rameswar Mandir and There is a grave of popular peer Muhammad Abdul Qayyum Shah Qadri and their annual Ursh held every year in month of shawan which is Arabic Month, there is small village next to Harduaganj which is call Hardua and which is more old then Harduaganj.there is a historical mosque which is build up around 300 years ago etc.

Geography

27°57′N 78°10′E / 27.95°N 78.17°E / 27.95; 78.17.[2] It has an average elevation of 177 metres (580 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[3] Harduaganj had a population of 11,564. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Harduaganj has an average literacy rate of 49%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 55%, and female literacy is 42%. In Harduaganj, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Harduaganj consists one Inter College now named as Agrasen Inter College. Initially there was a middle school located at " Nahar Pul Barautha" Bridge on The Upper Ganga Cannel at village Barautha in the 1.25 kms north on Ramghat Road. It was headed by Shri Navnidh Singh Chauhan.The school was shifted & relocated in Harduaganj on the land doneted by Lala Matrumal a great trader of that time and reorganised and refounded by Late Shri Radheshyam Mittal ji. The Principal was Shri Mukutbihari Lal. Later It was headed by Shri Rajendra Kishore Jain (Jain Sahab), Shri Ram Kishor Sharma (Sharma Ji), Shri Sajjan Pal Singh many more........ My father Late Shri Kushal Pal Singh Chauhan was Vice Principal upto 1978 and was well known as Thakur Sahab in Staff & Mauni Baba in the society. He was man of priciple and never allowed us to avail fee exumtion for any of we brothers which was entitled to us as Teacher's Ward. He had Hels numberless poor students by assiting in their educational requirment and many local wrestlers in assisting for ther diet arrangements. Late Shri Kushalpal Sing (my father) was life member >15 Arya Samaj establishments. and regular visitor to Arya Samaj Mandir Barautha ( HArduaganj), Sadhu Ashram Ramghat Road, Kanya Gurkul Sasni, Hathras, Dayanad Smarak Karnvas Bulandshar and many more.

  • Lala Matrumal Famous Social Worker who donated his land for Agrasen Inter College & PHC (Govt. Hospital).

  • Shri Kushal Pal Singh Chauhan born in neaqr Village named Barautha & Famous as Mauni Baba, was vice pricipal up to 1978 and famous social activist.

Retired Class One Officer, MHA Mr Girver Singh Maliya, was born in Harduagunj Village Naya Bans Narender Garhi. He is a famous Philantropist, & a Social worker. Mr Girver Singh Maliya's younger son Dr Brij Mohan Maliya was born in Delhi. Dr Brij Mohan Maliya is a famous Healthcare Professional specializing in Rehabilitation of Orthopaedic and Neurological patients and he is presently working and living in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Mr Girver Singh's older son Inspector Jagmohan Maliya was born in Delhi and is involved in periodic Philantropic and Social work at Harduaganj Village Naya Bans Narender Garhi. 1
