Haplophyton is a plant genus in the family Apocynaceae. It has 3 known species, native to the southwestern United States, Mexico and Cuba. it a suffrutescent herb with alternative leaves and showy colorful flowers.
Common name is "cockroach plant" of "hierba de la cucaracha" in reference to it insecticidal properties. It has been used to kill roaches, fleas, flies, lice and mosquitoes.[1]
