Hamsageethe (The Swan song) is a feature film in the Kannada language. It was directed by G. V. Iyer and released in the year 1975. M. Balamuralikrishna received India's National Award for Best Male Playback singer for this film. Hamsa Geethe, the novel by Ta Ra Su was made into Hindi Film, Basant Bahar as early as in 1956. The novel is supposedly based on the real life story of the 18th century Carnatic musician Bhairavi Venkatasubbiah.[1]
The movie follows the journey of a learner in his search to find the right Guru.The role of Anant Nag's guru is played by G.S.Rama rao
