Halo Dogs Ltd is the largest dog daycare facility in the world.[1][2][3] Halo Dogs was founded in 2009 by master dog trainer[4] and former medic and manager of The London Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Justin Kumaran.

History

Kumaran founded Halo Dogs in North London in 2009. He got the idea to start a dog day care centre when he was working as a part-time "re-homer" at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.[3] In 2010 Halo Dogs became a limited company.[5] In 2011 Halo Dogs won the Enterprise Enfield Start up Business Award.[6][7] Halo Dogs is considered a top London doggie nursery.[8] It operates on 540 acres of land and has a cageless environment where puppies and dogs are permitted to interact with each other, socialise and play under constant supervision. The facility contains play and agility equipment, splash pools, fallen logs, play kennels, lakes, colour televisions, outdoor and indoor play areas and chill-out facilities. The centre also has a "time-out" area for temporarily separating dogs that demonstrate inappropriate behaviour.[3]

Other services

Since its founding, Halo Dogs has offered a variety of services including dog obedience and dog behaviour training, dog agility, dog boarding, dog walking, dog grooming, pet photography, animal ambulance and a dog rescue and re-homing service.[9] It is also the main sponsor of the Animals-In-Distress Animal Refuge in Málaga, Spain.[10]

Charity work

In addition to running its own self-funded rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing centre, Halo Dogs regularly supports other dog rescue charities including Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, The Mayhew Animal Home, Animals In Distress (A.I.D) and Pup Aid.

Media work

Halo Dogs media work includes the BBC,[11][12] Daily Mail,[3] Dogs Monthly Magazine,[13] Real People Magazine,[1] Guild of Dog Trainers,[14] Channel 4[15] and France2[16] TV.
