Haimchar (Bengali: হাইমচর) is an Upazila of Chandpur District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Geography
Haimchar is located at 23°04′00″N 90°38′15″E / 23.0667°N 90.6375°E . It has 20946 units of house hold and total area 174.49 km².
Demographics
As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Haimchar has a population of 113306. Males constitute 51.29% of the population, and females 48.71%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 52033. Haimchar has an average literacy rate of 25.4% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]
