Håland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Håland was a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway.[1]
Håland is part of the traditional Norwegian district of Jæren. The clerical district of Håland had included churches located in Sola, Tananger, Tjora and Madla. The parish of Håland (Haaland) was established as a municipality on January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Håland municipality existed until 1930, when it was split to form the two new municipalities of Madla and Sola. Madla is now a borough of the city of Stavanger. Before the partition Håland had a population of 4,463. Håland clerical district became Sola clerical district (Sola kirkelige fellesråd) in 1967.[2][3]
