Ernest Gwyn Richards (born 22 December 1905 in Bryncethin — died 17 December 1985 (aged 79) in Bridgend) was a Welsh rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1920s and '30s, playing representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales, and at club level for Cardiff RFC, as a Fly-half, i.e. number 10, and playing club level rugby league (RL) for Huddersfield.[1]

Gwyn Richards won a cap for Wales (RU) while at Cardiff RFC in 1927 against Scotland.[2]
Challenge Cup final appearances
Gwyn Richards played Stand-off/Five-eighth and scored a try in Huddersfield's 21–17 victory over Warrington in the 1932–33 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 6 May 1933.<ref name="Fartown At Wembley - "The Wembley Years" - 1933, 1935, 1953 And 1962">"Fartown At Wembley - "The Wembley Years" - 1933, 1935, 1953 And 1962". huddersfieldrlheritage.co.uk. 31 December 2012.
