Guntupalli is a suburb area, located to the west of Vijayawada. It is 10 km away from the city Vijayawada, and it is situated on National Highway 9 (Vijayawada to Hyderabad), between Gollapudi village and Ibrahimpatnam Circle. The most widely spoken language is Telugu. This place is well known as Guntupalli wagon work shop is South Central Railway Zone (India) biggest Wagon work shop. Guntupalli Wagon Workshop is one of the premier workshops of the Indian Railways and the second best among the 13 workshops in the country in repair of wagons and wheels and bearings manufacture. The Wagon Workshop, Guntupalli, Vijayawada was inaugurated in the year 1974 and it was granted ISO 9002 Certificate in March 1999.
