Gujrat Tehsil is a subdivision (tehsil) of Gujrat District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. The tehsil is administratively subdivided into 65 Union Councils. In Tehsil Gujrat most notable areas are Sargodha road,Qamar sialvi road,Railway road,Shah Jahangir road,Circular road,Rehman shaheed road,Jinah road,Bhimber road and Jail road etc. There are also some colonies like Shadman colony,Al-nabi colony and towns etc Model town, Green town etc. Most notable people like Chauhdary Pervaiz Elahi MNA, Chauhdary Shujat Hussain ,Chahdary Mubashir Hussain belongs to Tehsil Gujrat. .[1]

Gujrat Tehsil has population of 270,000 according to the 2005 Governament Mardum Shummari, and covers an area of 1254 square km.[citation needed]
