Critical reception

Larry Flick, of Billboard magazine reviewed the song favorably, saying that "walking bass, twangy guitar, fiddle, and Yoakam's voice make it a pure hillbilly delight."[1]

In popular culture

This song was featured playing on a jukebox in the 1991 movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and can also be heard at the motel scene in the 1991 movie Dutch.
