Guitar Connection

Guitar Connection is an instrumental guitar album, produced and played by French guitarist Jean Pierre Danel.

Released in France by Sony/BMG in July 2006, it was the only instrumental guitar record ever to reach the number one spot in the charts in France (as well as number 3 in Belgium), staying there for two weeks, and receiving a gold disc after three weeks (with more than 160,000 copies sold). The album provided three hit singles.[citation needed]

"Guitar Connection Volume 2" was released in March 2007, with some famous guest stars, and includes a duet with The Shadows' guitarist Hank Marvin on the famous jazzy standard "Nivram". The album hit the #8 spot in the charts, and provided a top 5 hit single, two top 10 and a top 20. The video version got a double platinum disc, and danel received the "Grand Prix Français de la Guitare".

Guitar Connection 3 was released in July 2008, and hit the charts at #18. It provided two hit singles, including a top 10. The DVD got a platinum disc.

Guitar Connection - Tribute to The Shadows hit the charts at #6 in March 2009, and the video version got a gold disc. The album provided a new hit single.

The Best Of Guitar Connection hit the charts at #23 in September 2009 and will be followed by a limited edition, Guitar Connection Anthology, in December.
