Group Therapy Radio (also known as Above & Beyond Group Therapy Radio and abbreviated as ABGT) is a weekly radio show hosted by trance DJs Above & Beyond. Launched as the successor to Trance Around The World, the show is a two hour mix broadcast from Above & Beyond's studios in London every Friday at 19:00-21:00 GMT. The show is presented in a rotation mode between the three DJs in the group, and includes a guest mix in the final quarter of the show, in which fellow DJs and producers are given 30 minutes of air time.

Launch

On November 2, 2012, Above & Beyond announced that Trance Around The World Episode 450 would be the last in the series.[1] Over the next few days, until the announcement, a countdown clock was present with a theme track on Above & Beyond's Radio link.

On November 5, 2012, Above & Beyond announced the launch of Group Therapy Radio, named after their second studio album Group Therapy:[2]

"Group Therapy captures the relationship between us, our music and you, our audience, and the magic that happens when those three things interact. It's something you've all taken into your hearts and it lies at the centre of everything that we do - the community, the connection, the interaction. Our radio show is our weekly Group Therapy with all of you."

Additionally, the group stated that ABGT would follow the similar format as TATW. New interactive online features have been added to the broadcast to enhance the listener's experience.

Regular Features

Each broadcast contains regular features.

Record of the Week

The Record of the Week is selected by Above & Beyond as their personal choice of the best song in the show. The feature was brought in from the Group Therapy Radio predecessor, Trance Around The World.

Push The Button

Push The Button is a feature in which the listeners select their favorite track out of the previous week's show. In Trance Around The World, the feature was known as Web Vote Winner. The Push The Button track is decided through a vote on Above & Beyond's website. The voting was previously ran on the Anjunabeats forums and Above & Beyond's Facebook page.

Flashback Track

The Flashback Track is a classic track selected by Above & Beyond, played right before the Guest Mix. The track itself was typically released years prior. In Trance Around The World, the feature was known as Stuck In The Box.

Guest Mix

The weekly Guest Mix features a live or prerecorded performance by a guest DJ. It is typically the final 30 minutes of the show. Armin van Buuren was invited to host the inaugural guest mix on ABGT Episode 002.
