Griffytown, Louisville

Coordinates: 38°15′05″N 85°32′32″W / 38.2514°N 85.5421°W Griffytown is a neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky located along Old Harrods Creek Run.[1] In 1879 Dan Griffy, an African American, purchased the land he had been living on in the area and the neighborhood appears to be named for him. The neighborhood was redeveloped in the 1960s through urban renewal and remains predominantly African American.
