Graphis Inc.

Graphis Inc. is the international publisher of books and magazines on communication design, advertising, photography, annual reports, posters, logos, packaging, book design, brochures, corporate identity, letterhead, interactive design and other design associated with graphic arts.

According to the Graphis website, Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication, was first published in 1944 by Walter Herdeg in Zurich, Switzerland." The magazine and book publisher was moved to New York City in 1986 where Graphis Inc. currently resides and now published by B. Martin Pedersen. Over 350 issues of Graphis magazine have been published. Graphis also publishes hardback annuals including: Graphis Design Annual, Graphis Advertising Annual, Graphis Photography Annual, Graphis Annual Reports Annual, and Graphis Poster Annual. Other Graphis books include designing: Chermayeff & Geismar, Exhibition: The Work of Socio X and Graphic Art of Michael Schwab.

Graphis Awards

Each year Graphis invites leading professionals across the photography, illustration, and graphic design communities to be considered for inclusion in their annual books in each of these visual art fields. Among the thousands of submissions, the Graphis jury selects the most compelling work of the year in each category. Selected artists are featured in the hardback Annuals and awarded the Graphis Gold and Platinum awards. The selections typically feature many of the most accomplished people in each field.[1]
