Gracepoint is an upcoming American 10-episodes television series, remake of the UK's Broadchurch. James Strong is directing the series written by Chris Chibnall.[1]

Cast

Production

It was announced in August 2013 at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour that American television network Fox will be developing an American version of Broadchurch. Chris Chibnall will write the premiere episode and executive produce the series.[13] Production will begin in January 2014 for a spot in FOX's 2014–15 season.[14] The American adaptation has been retitled as Gracepoint.[3] James Strong, director of some episodes of original series will direct the Fox'a adaption.[1]

Casting

On 2 October 2013, David Tennant was confirmed to star as Detective Emmett Carver in the American adaptation of Broadchurch, he'll investigate the murder of 11-year-old Danny.[2] On November 18, 2013 two more joined includes Anna Gunn as Detective Ellie Miller and Jacki Weaver as Susan Wright.[1][3] On December 3, 2013 two more joined the series, Kevin Rankin, who will play Paul Coates, and Virginia Kull, she'll play Beth, murdered Danny's mother.[7] On December 16, 2013 Kevin Zegers joined the cast of the series, he'll be playing the role of a news reporter as Owen Burke.[5] On December 19, 2013 Michael Peña was added to the cast to portray the role as Mark Lasseter, Danny's father.[4]

On December 20, 2013 Josh Hamilton joined the cast, he'll play the role as Joe Miller, Det. Ellie Miller’s husband.[8] On December 23, 2013 Nick Nolte also joined the cast of series, he'll play the role as Jack Reinhold.[6] On January 15, 2014 Kendrick Sampson has been cast in the series, he will play Dean Iverson, works at his uncle’s restaurant.[9] On January 22, 2014 Madalyn Horcher was added to the cast of the series, she will play Chloe Lasseter, daughter of Mark and Beth, sister of Danny.[11] On January 23, 2014 Webster Talent tweeted the confirm role of Darcy Laurie, he'll play the role of Hugo Garcia.[12] On January 24, 2014, Georgina Rylance also joined the series, she will play Gemma, a flirty woman who owns the town’s hotel.[10]

Filming

The filming of the upcoming series began on January 28, 2014 in Oak Bay, British Columbia.[15] It will be filmed for three to four months in the nearby locations of Greater Victoria.[16]
