It opened in 2006 and replaced the old Whitesmore School. It is a specialist Business and Enterprise college.
Grace Academy Solihull is constituted as a company and registered charity under English law.[1]
It is sponsored by Grace Foundation,[2] a charity whose objects are "to advance for the public benefit education in the United Kingdom by promoting the establishment, maintenance, carrying on, management and development of schools with a Christian ethos and in accordance with Christian principles". Grace Foundation is endowed by Bob Edmiston, entrepreneur and founder of the evangelical international charity Christian Vision, who is a Governor of Grace Academy.On 20 August 2013 the school was among those named by The Independent newspaper and the British Humanist Association as adopting a policy similar in wording to the repealed anti-gay legislation Section 28.
In both 2011 and 2012 Grace Academy Solihull was one of the most improved schools or academies in England. In the academic year 2012/13 the academy was the most improved in Solihull, one of the top performing Local Authorities in England, and also bacome the highest achieving academy in the North Solihull sub district.
