Goran Tomić (born 18 March 1977) is a Croatian football manager and former professional player who is currently the manager of Beijing Baxy in the China League One.
Playing Career
Tomić stared his professional football caeer at his hometown club HNK Šibenik of Prva HNL in 1995. In hia player career, he played for HNK Šibenik, AEK Athens, Vicenza, Reggina, FC Salzburg, K. Lierse S.K. and Henan Construction. In May 2006, he was released by Henan Construction for lingering injury.[1]
Managerial Career
Tomić became the assist coach of HNK Šibenik after his retirement. On 1 September 2011, he was appointed as manager of HNK Šibenik after Vjekoslav Lokica was sacked by club.[2] Due to serious financial problems HNK Šibenik relegated to Druga HNL in the 2011/12 league season. On 12 February 2013, Tomić resigned from HNK Šibenik for he had accepted the contract from China. [3] On 26 February 2013, China League One side Beijing Baxy officially announced Tomić became the new manager of the club.[4] Beijing Baxy finished the season in 7th place which is the most successful result so far in the history of the club.
