Biography
Early life and career
Gonzo Greg is a native of Massachusetts, but moved to California, where he began his radio career.[2]
Gonzo Greg began his career in 1986(after having a gorgeous daughter Bailey) at famed Hair Metal radio station KNAC in California.[3] He has since moved all around the United States to promote his show in various markets. His most recent incarnation of The Big Dumb Show was renamed Gonzo In The Morning and was last broadcast on 107.9 KVGS "Area 108" in Las Vegas Nevada.[4] After a two year hiatus from on air radio, he returned to host the night show at KVGS.
He has worked with many co-hosts in his time, most notably Erin Carmen[5] from his stint in Detroit, and Nicole Padberg[6] from his time in Indianapolis and Las Vegas.
He previously worked at many other radio stations and had stints on television as well. Some of the radio stations include: KNAC, WMMR, WKRK-FM KXXR and WRZX.
Style
Gonzo Greg, (also called Gonzo, Gonz, or The Gonz) derives his style of reporting from Hunter S Thompson's Gonzo Journalism, as his name is a tribute. His entertainment can sometimes be crude, and most generally humorous. He tends to report the news with a disregard for accuracy and leans more toward delivery and humor. His daily routine of Morning Radio games, criticizm of government and pop culture, and constant sarcasm has resulted in a cult following of listeners, some listening via streaming internet radio.[2]
