Golden Spider Awards

The Golden Spider Awards, also known as the Eircom Spiders and often just called the Golden Spiders, is an annual awards ceremony honouring Irish individuals and organisations for their outstanding achievements online and celebrate the successes of the Internet and digital media in Ireland.
The awards were established by Business & Finance magazine in 1996,[1] and have grown from the first year to become the main Internet awards in Ireland. The main sponsor in 2007 was eircom.
The 2008 Internet Hero award recipient was Aodhan Cullen, the founder of StatCounter.
