Godfrey Phillips India Ltd. (GPI Ltd.) is India's second largest cigarette maker.[1] It is the number one cigarette company in North India and India's number one cigar marketing organisation.[2]

GPI's headsquarter is in New Delhi.[3] GPI has seven sales branches in India namely Ahmedabad branch, Mumbai branch, Chandigarh branch, Delhi branch,chennai branch,kolkata branch,Hyderabad branch and Jaipur Branch.[citation needed] It has three major manufacturing facilities, two at Mumbai and at one at Ghaziabad (New Delhi).[4]

Brands

As the second largest player in the Indian cigarette industry, their annual turnover exceeds INR 3200 crores (approx. US $369.6 million). GPI owns some of the most popular cigarette brands in the country like FS 1, Four Square, Red and White, Jaisalmer, Cavanders and Tipper.

FS1

FS1 is the premium line of cigarettes launched by Four Square. Each Turkish Blend cigarette in the FS1 pack attributes its distinct taste and aroma to Luxury Long Leaf he fill of India. This franchise is enjoying the patronage of millions of smokers in India.

After a price hike of various brands of cigarettes, Four Square Special and Four Square Premier have come in a convenient price slab of Rs. 4 per stick.

International Business

GPI also has a flourishing International Business Division through which it collaborates with some of the top players in the international tobacco industry to assist them in marketing their products and providing various professional and expert services including contract manufacturing, cut tobacco, smoke analysis and various other consultancy services.

Many countries from the Middle East to West Africa, South East Africa, South East Asia, East Europe, Australia, South America, Southeast Asia and Central America have been added on to its portfolio of exporting cigarettes as well as cut tobacco. Its brands like Stellar, Force 10, Jaisalmer, Originals, Ultima, Black Jack etc. are doing very well in their respective markets.
