Gobind Pura

Gobind Pura is one of the oldest areas of the city Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. The construction of houses is a mixture of old and new styles. It is located very near to the centre of Faisalabad (Ghenta Ghar), which means 'Clock Tower' in English.

It is surrounded by Jinnah Colony and Gulberg A. It also faces the Agriculture University of Faisalabad. It has four mosques. The main road of Gobindpura has been converted to a highly commercial area and is full of hospitals, clinic, restaurants (AFC, Fri chick), schools and bakeries (Ideal, treat) . This Road is between Gobind Pura and Jinnah Coloney. Gulberg Police Station is also situated on this Road. The chowk on this road is called ideal chowk (old name is boranwala chowk).The residential building named as BARI KOTHEE,(means big house) which has been divided now in several small units of houses, is the oldest landmark building of this area. This House has the residents of Chaudry Naimat Khan and Chaudry Safdar Jang Khan Family.

Gobind Pura is also the old name of a village (now Quaid Abad) located in tehsile Nowshera Virkan, Gujranwala District,Punjab, Pakistan. This is a small village having a population of nearly two thousand. It has low literacy rate. This village is deprived of basic facilities. This village was named after the name of a sikh [{GOBIND SING}]. It was the center of sikh civilization before the partition of subcontinent, even now it has the old buildings of sikh's era.
