Gliese 317 c is a possible extrasolar planet[1][2] approximately 50 light-years away in the constellation of Pyxis. The planet was announced in July 2007 to be orbiting the red dwarf star Gliese 317. The planet is a Jovian planet, at least 1.6 times the mass of Jupiter. Gliese 317 c orbits 5.5 AU or further from its parent star with an orbital period of at least 7100 days. The eccentricity of the orbit is poorly constrained.[2] It is the second known planet in order from Gliese 317.[3]
