Gita-Mohanam,(गीतमोहनम्)'Spiritual Hymns' is a famous Sanskrit poetry book of Indian Poet Manmohan Acharya.This work has been of great importance in the acceleration of spirituality. The Gita Mohanam is organized Sixteen chapters. Each chapter contains one song. Each of the songs in this Poetry has been an inspiration for many a compositions and choreographic works in Odissi form of Classical dance.

Prachanda Chandika Astakam (Eight Verses on Furious Chandi), 4.Mahadevi Panchaasikaa ( Fifty verses on Goddess of Energy), 5. Jagadambaa-vandanam (Prayer to the Mother of Universe), 6. Hari-hara-smarana- Panchakam (Five verses on Hari and Hara), 7. Bhajaami paavana charanam (prayer to the sacred feet), 8. Smrti Satpadaani (Seven verses on Raadhaa’s Dream)9. Gajaraaja-chatwaarimsikaa ( Forty verses on the God like Elephant) 10. Jagannatha vandanam (Prayer to The God of Universe), 11. Ushodaya Swagatikaa ( Welcome to the Rising Dawn),12. Literary and Musical Feature

Two numbers of songs are written in the traditional Sanskrit meters like Vasanta Tilaka, Pancha Chaamara. Two poems are also followed the style of Rabindra Sangeet. The Doha and Chaupai tradition of Tulsi Das is also found in two songs in Gitamohanam. Rest of the songs are either written according to Classical Ragas or the invention of the poet. The 10th song in the book, 10. Jagannatha vandanam (Prayer to The God of Universe)is a bi-lingual poem; both in Sanskrit and Oriya language.


'Gajaraja chatwarimsika', a song from this book is included in Indo-Chinese Movie, The Desire.[1] Seven numbers of songs from this book are taken to the Bhakti Sangeeta Samaroha[2] C.D. of International Prajnan Mission.[3] The famous Classical Music directors like Padmashree Raghunath Panigrahi, Guru Ramahari Das, Devashish Sarkar, Laxmikant Palit, Sangeeta Gosain, Suchitra Mohapatra, Sukanta Kundu and Manjushree Tripathy have musically composed many of the songs of Gitamohanam. The dancers like Guru Ratikant Mohapatra, Padmashree Gangadhar Pradhan Sujata Mohapatra, Rajashree Praharaj, Shilpa Shetty, Dona Ganguly, Rahul Acharya and many more have Choreographed the songs of the small poetry, Gitamohanam.
