Giro Commercial Bank (GCB), whose full name is Giro Commercial Bank Limited, is a commercial bank in Kenya. It is one of thecommercial banks licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya, the national banking regulator.[1]

History

The bank was established as Giro Bank Limited in 1992. In 1998, Giro Bank merged with Commercial Bank Limited, to form Giro Commercial Bank Limited.[2] In December 2008, the total asset base of Giro Commercial Bank was estimated at over US$74 million (approximately KES:5.94 billion).[3] As of December 2009, the bank was ranked 28th out of Kenya's 44 commercial banks by assets.[4]
