Gil Seong-joon (Korean: 길성준, Hanja: 吉成俊; born December 24, 1977), better known by his stage name Gil (Korean: 길) is a South Korean singer, songwriter, record producer, comedian, entertainer, television personality, promoter, restaurateur and founder of Leessang Company. He is member of hip-hop duo, Leessang. He has been a member of MBC's Infinite Challenge since April 2009.[1]

Infinite Challenge

Character

Gil made his first appearance on an episode which featured Korean figure skater Kim Yu-na in April 2009, ostensibly substituting for Jeong Jun-ha, who had to leave the episode recording early. He remained a temporary member of Infinite Challenge until he became a full member later that year. His early appearances to the program showed a tactless character, which made him less popular to the fans. As his air time on the program decreased, the cast often teased him as "Gilmeo" (길메오), a portmanteau of his name and "cameo".

He is also notorious for always trying too hard to be funny, and the other members often teases him about this, giving him the nickname of "Unfunny Friend" (재미없는 친구). However, the absurdity of his words and actions made him unintentionally funny. He is also often used for body gags by other members, such as his mouth's bad smell which was used as one of the program's classic punishment and given him a nickname "Ip-sae" (입새).

Today, his popularity has greatly improved among Infinity Challenge fans and has since ditched his tactless/vulgar character and is also often referred to as the musician of Infinity Challenge because of his success in Leessang.
