Gijón Fútbol Femenino is a Spanish women's football club from Gijón established in 2000,[1] currently playing in Segunda División. After topping its group for three reasons, it was promoted to the Superliga after beating CD Nuestra Señora de Belén and UE L'Estartit in the promotion play-offs. Gijón ended last, setting a negative record with one draw and 23 losses, and it was again relegated.[2] The team gradually declined in subsequent years. Most recently it was fourth to last in the 2011-12 season, narrowly avoiding relegation to the third tier.
