Gianpaolo Bellini (born 27 March 1980) is an Italian association football who plays as a defender. He currently plays for Atalanta and is captain[citation needed] of the club.

Career

Born in Sarnico, Province of Bergamo, Bellini spent his entire career at Atalanta. He played his first league match on 11 April 1999, at that time in Serie B.

In 2009–10 season, Bellini primary played as left back, while Thomas Manfredini, Paolo Bianco, Leonardo Talamonti were used as central-back.

On 26 July 2010, Bellini and Manfredini signed a new 3+1 year contract with club.[1]

International career

Along with Cesare Natali, team-mate at Atalanta, they were call-up to 2002 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship. They partnered 2 matches at the tournament.
