Politics

His rivalry with Pakistan Muslim League (N)'s leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan dates back to the late 80's,[3] known for defecting to ruling political parties over the years including Pakistan Muslim League, Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Democratic Alliance and running as an independent. He joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in November 2011 [4] and contested on its ticket in general election 2013 from the same constituency and defeated Nisar Ali Khan in a close race.[5]

He has formerly served as a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab, Health Minister of Punjab and Member of the Central Zakat Council. His younger brother, Muhammad Sadeeq Khan, was elected Nazim of Tehsil Taxila.[6][7] He is currently facing charges of securing graduation degree on the basis of a fake intermediate certificate and on bail pending the next hearing.[8] Supreme Court (SC) suspended the membership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarian Ghulam Sarwar Khan.[9]
