Ghanchi

Ghanchi is a caste found in the state of Gujarat in India.[1] The Modh Ghanchi sub-caste is an Other Backward Class (OBC).[2] In Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, the counterpart of the Ghanchi are the Teli, who are listed as OBCs.[3]
Origin
The name is of Indian origin, and means a businessman (producer and seller) of oils (Teli). The surname is concentrated in Ahmedabad, as well as Ghanchi, Saurashtra, Amreli, Bagasra, Bilkha, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Kalol, Kadi, parts of Rajasthan Jodhpur, Pali, Sojat, Mumbai, and many others.[4]
