German Federal Republic
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"German Federal Republic" (Bundesrepublik Deutschland, BRD) was one of the terms used by the communist German Democratic Republic to refer to the Federal Republic of Germany from the 1950s until 1968, when they started using the term "BRD". Both terms were seen as derogatory by the West German government.[citation needed]
